Student Living in Sheffield at Bailey Fields

Bailey Fields sits right in the heart of Sheffield. Tram and bus stops are under two minutes away, and the train station is within 10 minutes. For University of Sheffield students, The Diamond is a 3-5 minute walk and the Engineering Building is right next door. Sheffield Hallam’s City Campus is around 10-15 minutes on foot. West Street, Sheffield’s most popular student nightlife strip, is right behind the building. For everyday essentials, Co-op, Tesco, and Taste the Orient are all nearby, with The Moor’s shops, cafés, and Moor Market just 5-10 minutes away.

Community

At Bailey Fields, community is everything, with events running every month of the year. We go all out for our Welcome Party; last year featured a full Wild West transformation with a live singer, line dancing, a rodeo bull, and a food truck. The social calendar only gets better from there, with highlights including a wigs-compulsory pub quiz and an ABBA-inspired party night complete with live performers and talent competitions. Beyond the big events, we run craft sessions, free breakfast mornings, and day trips for those smaller moments that matter just as much. Our spaces are just as impressive: the popular Mahjong Room, a rooftop terrace hosting everything from DJ nights to quiet study afternoons, and a fully equipped 24-hour gym.

Support

Our team is always up for a coffee and a chat, whether you need help settling in, have questions, or just want someone to talk to. We work closely with the International Psychological Services team, who visit regularly to run on-site information sessions. Community is one of the most powerful forms of support, and we foster it through our events programme, our always-open team, and our residents’ WhatsApp group, keeping you connected throughout the year.

Transport

Bailey Fields flats in Sheffield are conveniently located close to several transport links, making it easy for students to travel around Sheffield and beyond. Close to Bailey Fields, is a bus stop which provides regular services to the city centre (although this is only an 8-minute walk anyway), and Sheffield Hallam University, making Bailey Fields a convenient choice for Sheffield Hallam accommodation. With the train station also a short walk away, students can easily access all the amenities Sheffield has to offer, including restaurants, pubs, shopping centres, and cultural hotspots, whilst also making it easy for students to travel home during breaks and holidays.

Unless residents have paid for a car park space via a separate agreement, they are not permitted to park at the Building. Any unauthorised vehicles may be clamped, which may require payment of a release fee to the 3rd Party managing the car park.

Neither residents nor visitors are permitted to bring private vehicles onto the property except:

1) at the beginning and end of term times (of the higher education providers servicing the occupants/lessees),

2) where private motor vehicles are brought onto the Property by registered disabled occupiers; and

3) for commercial vehicles using the service area comprising part of the Property for managing and servicing the Property and adjacent premises.
