Advice for International Students

Moving to a new country can be overwhelming, but don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! We understand the challenges of being an international student in the UK and want to assure you that you’ll never feel alone when you choose to stay with us at Now.

Our diverse community includes students from all over the world, and we aim to make you feel comfortable. With our Live Now programme, we host regular events to celebrate various cultural holidays, festivals, and celebrations. We also recognise that language barriers can be daunting, so we have Mandarin-speaking staff members in our central teams and at our sites with larger Asian demographics to help bring that sense of home.

International Guarantors

Another way the Now team supports your big move is by allowing international students to have an international guarantor sign your tenancy agreement at some of our properties. We understand that securing accommodation in a new country can be challenging, especially when it comes to meeting the requirements for tenancy. We also have a no visa no no problem policy that assists students who may run into some hurdles when applying for international student visa’s. By offering the option for an international guarantor, we aim to make the process more accessible and stress-free, ensuring you have the support you need right from the start. This option provides peace of mind and helps you focus on settling into your new home and thriving in your studies.

If you are unable to visit one of our sites before your big moving day, our residence team can give you a virtual tour of the building, send you photos and floor plans, or provide information about the local area. Our 24/7 smart online booking system can find the perfect room for you at any time, no matter what the time difference.

Our Communities

We believe that university life should be about more than just attending lectures and studying. That’s why we’ve planned a range of events that will not only help you settle in and get to know your fellow residents but also provide you with exciting experiences and memories that will last a lifetime.

From quiz nights and movie nights to sports tournaments and cultural activities, there’s something for everyone. We want you to feel like you’re part of a community and have a support network around you as you navigate through university life. Our sites also have group WhatsApp chats, WeChat’s and Facebook groups so you can always feel connected.

Moving In

When it’s time to book your move-in date, our online system allows you to select a time that works best for you, so there’s no need to worry about long queues at check-in, especially after a tiring flight.
